School is out, but not for the ladies of SMACK! We’re gearing up for a summer of sporting events, new clients and
new opportunities. While the Tour de France and Olympics most obviously come to mind, the Reve Tour and the U.S. Olympic Trials need to be on your radar (and Twitter feed) when you check updates with your morning coffee.
The Rêve Tour is composed of six amateur female cyclists who will set out this Friday, June 29th 2012, to make history as the first female amateur cycling team to ride the entire course of the Tour de France. They will begin the journey one day ahead of the Grand Tour riders, ride the same stages as the pro cyclists, and arrive in Paris on July 21st after three weeks of riding – having completed the full 3,497 kilometers. This journey will prove to themselves, other female cyclists and women thinking about taking up cycling, that any bicycle dream is possible.
After 100+ miles of grueling climbing and back-to-back days, the Rêve women will count on the 110% line of performance and recovery gear to speed their recovery during the short windows of rest. More important, the combined Compression + ICE therapy will prepare their legs for the following day. By wearing 110%, the women hope to increase their performance and endurance by recovering in the most efficient and effective way possible. (Read the full Press Release here).
While recovery is on your brain (it should be everyday), we are pleased to introduce our newest client–Rocktape. Rocktape selected SMACK! Media to help them with their public relations by focusing on major summer sports events, including the 2012 Olympic Games. (Read the full Press Release here).
RockTape offers a variety of products designed to help professional athletes and weekend warriors. Their flagship product, RockTape kinesiology tape, is used by over 6,000 chiropractors, sports physicians and physical therapists worldwide to treat and prevent common sports injuries.
RockTape is engineered with 100% organic cotton, lasts up to 5 days, and can be worn while swimming or showering. The SMACKANISTAS admit that they are in love with Rocktape’s over 30 different colors and prints to match your individual style (and outfit)!
Our first assignment is to to meet with Rocktape Athletes at the U.S. Olympic Trials (Track and Field) held in Eugene, Oregon this week. Morgan is armed with a flip cam and is poised to meet with the “Rockstars” on their day off from competition. Check the SMACK! Media blog and facebook for updates, pictures and behind the scenes sneak peaks that only a SMACKANISTA could score. (Please link to Facebook and Twitter pages.) Case and point, within five minutes of arriving in Eugene, Morgan was running with Olympic Trials athletes on their private warm-up field (picture above). Afterwards she easily found her way to Track Town Pizza to refuel and catch up with friends (Eugene is THE place to be for runners this week)!
